El proyecto se encuadra dentro de los estudios sobre teoría e historiografía de la arquitectura y el diseño y se propone revisar críticamente los límites del concepto de tipología, en relación con los distintos contextos de producción de la teoría de la arquitectura y el diseño del siglo XX. Se pretende caracterizar los textos de teoría de la arquitectura que aportan a la definición canónica de tipología; identificar las aplicaciones de la misma, según su destino urbano-arquitectónico y comparar los usos de dicho concepto en arquitectura, vinculándolo también a la escala del diseño de productos. Se plantea una metodología cualitativa que se estructura en dos unidades de análisis: los textos sobre tipo y tipología y los edificios o proyectos de arquitectura y diseño. Para revisar críticamente qué se entiende por tipología, se estudiarán, no sólo los textos canónicos, sino también los escritos menos difundidos, contrastando permanentemente teorías y concreciones. The project is framed within the studies on theory and historiography of architecture and design and aims to critically review the limits of the concept of typology, in relation to the different production contexts of the theory of architecture and design of the 20th century. The aim is to characterize architectural theory texts that contribute to the canonical definition of typology; identify its applications, according to its urban-architectural scale and compare the uses of said concept in architecture, also linking it to the scale of industrial design. The qualitative methodology proposed is structured in two units of analysis: texts on type and typology and buildings or architecture and design projects.
