Poemas de Gustavo Pereira Grabados de Gladys Meneses (1979) is one of such books materializing the encounter between visuality and poetry by means of contention and silence. This article offers a reading of the engraved poems therein, giving an account of the tensions and exchanges between both expressive means. Likewise, this text proposes a journey into some of the artistic occurrences bonding words, gazes and experiences. En Venezuela, durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX, el libro de artista se conformaba como un lugar de convergencia entre el arte gráfico y la escritura. Poemas de Gustavo Pereira Grabados de Gladys Meneses (1979) es uno de esos libros que realizan el encuentro entre visualidad y poesía a través de la contención y el silencio. Se ofrece aquí una lectura de estos poemas grabados, mientras se observan las tensiones e intercambios entre ambos medios expresivos. Asimismo se propone un recorrido por algunos de los momentos que construyen el vínculo entre palabra, mirada y experiencia.
