| Sumario: | In Venezuela, during the second half of the 20th century, the artist’s book was conceived as a piece of the convergence of graphic arts and writing. Poemas de Gustavo Pereira Grabados de Gladys Meneses (1979) is one of such books materializing the encounter between visuality and poetry by means of contention and silence. This article offers a reading of the engraved poems therein, giving an account of the tensions and exchanges between both expressive means. Likewise, this text proposes a journey into some of the artistic occurrences bonding words, gazes and experiences. |
