Durante los últimos años la firma Johnson Acero S.A. ha experimentado un significativo crecimiento en su estructura y descentralización. Este crecimiento ha repercutido de manera significativa en la gestión y en el control de la organización, provocando que las tradicionales técnicas de control de gestión requieran de una revisión para garantizar su adecuación al tamaño actual de la empresa. Por lo señalado, y atento a los riesgos que significa no controlar correctamente las principales variables del negocio, resulta necesaria la implementación de nuevas herramientas que permitan que el contralor de la gestión de las gerencias sea efectuado de una manera más profesional y acorde al tamaño y las características de la organización. En el presente trabajo se analizan diversas herramientas con el propósito de brindar solución a la problemática planteada, investigando acerca de las bondades y limitaciones de cada una de ellas. Este análisis permite concluir que la herramienta que mejor se adapta a las características propias de la empresa y a su situación actual es el “Tablero de control directivo”. El tablero permite establecer indicadores que permitan medir las cuestiones que la empresa considera de mayor criticidad. Mediante el establecimiento de objetivos e intervalos de aceptabilidad del indicador, es posible distinguir de manera sencilla cuales son los factores que requieren mayor atención y quien es el responsable de tomar las decisiones tendientes a alcanzar los objetivos propuestos. uring the last years the company Johnson Acero S.A. has experienced significant growth in its structure and decentralization. This growth has had a significant impact on the management and control of the organization, causing traditional management control techniques to require a revision to ensure their adequacy to the current size of the company. Therefore, and attentive to the risks involved in not properly controlling the main business variables, it is necessary to implement new tools that allow the controller of the management of the managements to be carried out in a more professional manner and according to the size and the characteristics of the organization. In the present work, several tools are analyzed with the purpose of providing a solution to the problem posed, investigating the benefits and limitations of each one of them. This analysis allows us to conclude that the tool that best adapts to the characteristics of the company and its current situation is the "Executive control board". The dashboard allows the establishment of indicators to measure the issues that the company considers most critical. By establishing objectives and intervals of acceptability of the indicator, it is possible to distinguish in a simple manner which are the factors that require the most attention and who is responsible for making the decisions aimed at achieving the proposed objectives.
