Such spaces promote dynamics of visibility and integration that, according to Laurent Berlant and Michael Warner, foster alternative possibilities of identities, intelligibilities, publics, cultures, and sexualities challenging the privilege of heteronormativity in sexual culture. Starting with a brief history of the LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Queer) movements, theoretically framed by, among others, Lacanian constructions of subjectivity, Michel Foucault’s conceptualization on biopower, and Judith Butler’s arguments on performativity and identity, this address maps the queer agency as a space of transcultural resistance. Finally, it concentrates on long-existing queer constructions and representations, though invisible or camouflaged, in contrast with new and recent paradigms and emphasizes the importance of visibility and integration into different communal spaces. Los espacios queer no son lugares físicos sino áreas de probabilidades en un espacio social abierto a la tolerancia por la diferencia y la ambigüedad. Dichos espacios promueven dinámicas de visibilidad e integración que, en la argumentación de Laurent Berlant y Michael Warner, propician posibilidades alternativas de identidades, inteligibilidades, públicos, culturas y sexualidades que desplazan el privilegio de la heteronormatividad en la cultura sexual. Comenzando con una breve historia de los movimientos LGBTQ (Lésbicos, Gay, Bisexuales, Transexuales, Queer) enmarcada teóricamente por construcciones lacanianas de subjetividad, la conceptualización de Michel Foucault sobre biopoder, los planteos de performatividad e identidad de Judith Butler, entre otros, se intenta un mapeo de la agencia queer como espacio de resistencia transcultural. Finalmente, se indaga sobre construcciones y representaciones queer de larga data, aunque invisibles o camufladas, en contraste con nuevos paradigmas recientes y se enfatiza la importancia de la visibilidad y la integración en los distintos ámbitos comunitarios.
