En la presente tesis se pretende obtener un mapeo de las perspectivas que aportan a la construcción del discurso del diseño industrial entre 1970 y 2000 y cómo se reflejan dichas perspectivas actualmente en los discursos del Taller de Diseño Industrial 1 y 3 de la FADU–UNL. Si bien es vasta la literatura que versa sobre el diseño industrial, tiende por lo general a ir por tres caminos. Unos textos proponen metodologías o modos de proceder que garanti-cen un camino seguro para la práctica profesional y la enseñanza de la disciplina. Otros escritos abordan la historia de la disciplina. Y muchos más representan catálogos de pro-ductos. Un cuarto camino está descuidado y es uno que explore los orígenes de los enunciados que construyen el discurso de este campo del saber. Esto se considera rele-vante en tanto resulta indispensable comprender los inicios, para entender el presente y poder luego proponer un futuro. A este respecto, esta tesis intenta responder la pregunta acerca de la uniformidad o mix-tura en el discurso del diseño industrial, o considerar si se puede hablar de uno o más discursos. The purpose of this thesis is to obtain a mapping of the perspectives that contribute to shaping the industrial design discourse between 1970 and 2000 and of how these perspectives influence the discourses of the Industrial Design Workshop 1 and 3 of the FADU–UNL. Although the literature dealing with industrial design is vast, it generally tends to follow three paths. Some texts propose methodologies or ways of proceeding that guarantee a safe path for professional practice and for teaching the discipline. Other writings address historical aspects of the discipline and many more represent product catalogs. A fourth possibility is neglected and it is one that explores the origins of the statements that build the discourse of this field of knowledge. This is considered relevant as it is essential to understand the beginnings to understand the present and then be able to plan a future.
