El objetivo de la tesis de maestría realizada fue identificar qué impacto puede tener la inteligencia artificial (IA) en una diligencia debida durante un proceso de fusiones y adquisiciones. Por lo tanto, los factores cruciales se describieron sobre una base teórica como un primer paso. Por lo tanto, las fusiones y adquisiciones, la diligencia debida (enfoque en la debida diligencia financiera y legal) y la inteligencia artificial se identificaron como parámetros clave y, en consecuencia, se explicaron en general. Sobre la base de que se investigó hasta qué punto, son adecuados para aplicaciones de IA. Para proporcionar datos significativos y completos, el autor incluyó una encuesta dirigida a más de 300 compañías legales y financieras para investigar si y qué herramientas aplican para su trabajo diario. El resultado de la encuesta y la investigación teórica resultó que las compañías financieras no implementan ninguna herramienta con caracterización de IA. A partir de hoy, solo las firmas legales trabajan con una amplia gama de herramientas de IA durante un proceso de Fusiones y Adquisiciones (por ejemplo: Kira o Luminance). Mirando hacia atrás al resultado de esta tesis, considero que la tesis fue un éxito y reveló percepciones notables sobre las preguntas iniciales de investigación y, además, proporciona un buen terreno para futuras investigaciones y trabajos académicos. The goal of the performed master thesis was to identify what impact Artificial intelligence (AI) can have on a due diligence during a Mergers & Acquisitions process. Therefore, the crucial factors were described on a theoretical basis as a first step. Hence, Mergers & Acquisitions, Due Diligence (focus on financial and legal due diligence) and Artificial Intelligence were identified as key parameters and consequently generally explained. Based on that it was investigated to which extend, they are suitable for AI applications. In order to provide meaningful and comprehensive data, the author included a survey reaching out to more than 300 law and finance companies to investigate if and which tools they apply for there daily work. The outcome of the survey and the theoretical investigation turned out, that Finance companies do not implement any tools with AI characterization. As of today, only Legal firms work with a wide range of AI tools during a Mergers & Acquisition process (for instance: Kira or Luminance).
